2020年開催の東京オリンピックに向けて、日本政府は、早急に国際線の発着便を約30％増便する計画を立てていた。
この野心的なゴールを達成するためには東京湾に向かってA滑走路を延伸させる必要があった。しかし、A滑走路を封鎖して工事を進めた場合、工事期間中の空港の稼働率を低減させてしまう問題があり、最適な解決策を模索すべく、DENZAIの技術計画チームに白羽の矢が立った。
DENZAIは、16世紀の伝説的な方法にヒントを得て、プロジェクトに着手する。

Building towards the Olympic Games in Japan in 2020 the Japanese Government planned to immensely increase the capacity of international flight departures and arrivals at the Airport by almost 30%.
To meet this ambitious goal, one of the runways needed to be upgraded and extended with an extension over the water.
In order not to close the runway during work in progress and costing the Airport dearly in lost revenue, the experts at Denzai group were contacted for a solution.
Inspired by an event in 16th century Japanese histroy Denzai formulated a plan to avoid a runway closure and minimize the runway downtime.
